League Table Widget for Clubs
Clubs now have access to the league table widget. For example, Hunningham Cricket Club plays in the Warwickshire Cricket League – in Division 2 and Division 8 East. Although going via the menu item Teams, the tables can be viewed from the Hunningham site, the new widget means that both tables can be added as a menu item.
Here is the Hunningham site with the standard Play-Cricket navigation bar options.
In Site Builder, add a new page called Tables
This causes a new item to appear on the navigation bar - “Tables”.
Then add another new page called Division 2 which is where we will store the Division 2 table. Note there are now two new pages on the navigation bar. This can be tidied up at the end.
Insert a table widget by selecting the Widgets dropdown, then Competitions, and League Table.
On the first tab, General Widget settings, configure the size and position. For the best result, set the X-axis position to 0 and width to 1120.
On the second tab, the League Table Widget settings, press the select button next to League.
This brings up a search box
Search by keyword for the league in this case “warwicks”
Select the correct league from the list and then the other options can be configured.
In this case I selected Division 2 and set the filters to Off.
Repeat these steps to add a page for each division. In this case the process was repeated for Division 8 East.
The navigation bar is not quite as required, as there are three entries – Tables, Division 2, and Division 8E
To tidy this up, in Site Builder, click on the navigation bar to bring up the Content Settings
Click the radio button next to Tables and the sub menu opens up.
Add Division 2 and Division 8E to the submenu and press Save Sub Links.
Remove the menu items at position 10 and 11 - Division 2 and Division 8E.
The view in site builder is now
The Hunningham site is now updated with a navigation bar option, Tables, which has Division 2 and Division 8E as dropdowns.
Selecting Division 2 gives
Additional Possibilities
The new table widget can be combined on the same page as a results and fixtures widget giving a single view of all three on the same page for the first time. This example has Fixtures and Results side by side with the table full width above.
Tip - The mobile view of this will display first the Widget which was saved last in Site Builder. To force the Table widget to the top of the mobile view after doing all other changes, go into the Table widget and press save.
