The Postings facility provides a repository for 'members only' documents. To view or upload documents in this area, a person must be signed in as a member of the site.
If the Postings widget does not appear anywhere on your site, you will need to add it using Site Builder. You can place it on an existing page or create a new page for it.
In the following example, I have used the Add page function in Site Builder to create a page, and then disabled it to place it under the Community menu.
In Site_Admin>Site Management>Site Builder, click on Pages (Home) and select Add page.
Enter a name for the page and tick the appropriate boxes.
Having added a new page, the page is opened for you, ready for editing. Click on Widgets and select Postings.
Now decide where the widget is to be placed on the page. The illustration below will place the Postings widget with dimensions 780 pixels wide by 500 pixels high below the header image and roughly in the centre of the page.
Select the Postings Widget Settings tab to enter the display settings for the widget. If ‘Search Postings’ is set to ‘On’, then members of the site will be able to search for previous entries using a keyword.
The page in Site Builder now looks like this:
Since this page has been ‘disabled’, it will not appear automatically in the menu options on navigation bar, so we have to edit the navigation bar to allow public access to the page.
In Admin>Site Builder, a left click anywhere on the navigation bar should open the settings.
Clicking on the radio button next to Community shows the pages that are available under this menu selection.
Click on the arrow to see a drop down list of pages available for selection and pick the page that you have created then click Save Sub Links.
Select Exit Site Builder and Exit Administration to see that the new page appears as a sub-menu item that may be accessed by members who have signed in.
Here is the new page:
New postings submitted from the public side will appear in the Admin Home page for approval before a member of the site can view them.
Click the View icon to edit, delete or approve pending postings.
Administrators may submit postings from the Admin>Information Board>Postings area.
Click the Add New Posting button
The screenshot below shows that I have added a photo using the image icon.
Left click the image and a set of tools will appear beneath it, allowing you to re-size the image or move the image so that the text appears to the left or right of it.
Use the Upload button to add documents, Excel files or PDFs as attachments.
Postings created by a main administrator are approved by default so when the posting is Saved, it will be available for immediate viewing.
