Adding a new player
From the Members Database you can add details of your members who have given you their permission to make them members of your club.
If you add a player as new, a fresh record is created in the Play-Cricket database, which has no stats and no additional roles. As that member is placed onto scorecards the statistics will accumulate and the player can be given additional roles such as league registered player.
Such a player cannot be given any administrator role, as he/she does not have a user id and password to sign in and access the admin area.
Go to Site Administration>Day to Day>Members>Member Database.
Select Member of the Website in the Role box. (You cannot add a member to the database with Role set to 'All'.)
Search to see all Members of the Website or Click “Add New Member with this Role”
On this screen you can select a record already in the Play-Cricket system, but if the player is new to Play-Cricket click “Add Member”.
On the following screen if the system determines that a person is under 16 (from the date of birth), and an email address is entered for that person, you will be asked to complete a parent’s contact details so that any emails sent to the child are copied to the adult.
You can also enter just the parental email address, but if you specify a child’s email address without that of the parent, an error will be shown.
Correct the screen by completing the missing information.
The Display Name may be used to differentiate between players of the same name at a club e.g. father and son with the same name, or for safeguarding purposes.
The player’s real name will appear on the Administrator’s member database, a nomination and league view of a registered player.
If present, the Display Name will appear on all other screens (public and administrator view), reports and downloads.
APIs will also use the display name, so this will be fed into the scoring apps.
Click the Save button and the child's record will now be added to your member database.
Action will now be needed by the Parent of the child to verify the account, please follow this guide Joining a club - Parents, Guardians and Children (Junior Cricket)
