Scoring An U10s And U11s Standard Game (Junior Cricket) Follow
Scoring an U10s/11s Standard Match
On the Play Cricket website create a standard match, attach the correct Scoring Rule (e.g. ECB Junior U11s Standard (Hardball)), and add the 8 players to the team for each side (if known)
Download the fixture to your device by accessing the Play Cricket Scorer app on your device, choose the appropriate league from the Competitions list and press the “download” button
The junior match will then be available to score on the app. In the example below it is the Anna's Test Site Under 11 fixture
You can now access the match by pressing your finger of the fixture details
You will see the following:
Press Start match
You will now be asked to select or confirm the teams. Ensure that there are an even number of players in each team
Press Done and PCS will ask you to confirm that it’s ok to carry on with less than 11 players a side:
Press YES
At this point, PCS will ask you if you want to SAVE AND EXIT or CONTINUE. For example, you might want to save your settings as you are entering the data the day before the match.
Press CONTINUE
Now you can check/amend the match defaults
Now select who won the toss
The next prompt will ask you how you want to score the match. Select BALL-BY-BALL
Now you need to select the opening batters and the bowler
You will now be taken to the Scoresheet where you can commence scoring the match
When a batter reaches 25, the following message appears
The app settings know that a batter has two lives, therefore the first time that a batter is out there will not be a system message, but on the second occasion it will give you the below message
When a bowler has reached the set number of overs, PCS shows the following message
If you want a bowler to bowl more than the set number, you can override it and allow them further overs to bowl
If you have a batter that's reached 25+ and all the other batters are out, then the retired batter can come back in but will only have 1 life. Therefore, if the have reached 25+ without losing a wicket, the first thing you need to do is dismiss them for a dot ball. Please choose Times Out as the dismissal method as it will be obvious to everyone what has happened.
At the end of the innings PCS will prompt you to close it
Press YES and select the batters and bowler for the 2nd innings.
Commence scoring
At the end of the allotted overs, PCS will ask what you want to do. However, if the team batting second score more than the first team, then go into MATCH ACTIONS and select End Match. The dialogue boxes below will be the same
Press OK
Another dialog box will appear
Press OK and carry out scorecard amendments (if necessary)
Go to the bottom of the Scorecard and press End Match
You can now end the match
Select FINALISE RESULT
Choose a Match Result and press Done
One final system message will appear
Press OK and the match will be synced to Play Cricket and will move to the Completed section on the app
Changing the Strike
At the start of a new over you will sometimes have to manually adjust the facing batsman (depending on runs scored from the last ball of the over).
This is done by pressing the three dots against the non-striker’s name
From the options offered, select Change strike
