Over the winter we have made some changes on Play-Cricket.com in line with the GDPR legislation to support Leagues, Clubs and Players. Please see a summary of these changes below:
Administrators will only see the information needed to complete their required tasks. This is designed to protect sensitive user data, such information exchanged in the League Registration Process.
Previously, administrators could upload player data without the individual being made aware. This is no longer the case, a play must receive a privacy notice detailing what, where, why and how their data will be used – Play-Cricket.com will ensure this is task is completed on behalf of each stakeholder.
An individual has the right to have their information removed from Play-Cricket.com unless it is required for the following two reasons:
- Legitimate Business Need of the ECB/CCB/League or Club*
Legitimate use of data relates to carrying out reasonable tasks and activities that an individual provided their data for to allow administrators to carry out required administrative activities.
- User Consent is required for all other activities such as Marketing.
*Please note: A players First and Second name will always be kept for the upkeep of historic scorecards. This is required to enable historic finding of people from a Welfare/Safeguarding need.
Further in-depth explanation of the GDPR changes and the implications of these on Play-Cricket.com registration processes can be viewed in the attached document.
