Play-Cricket API : Access for commercial / non-profit projects Follow
The Play-Cricket API is made available to Clubs and Leagues to extract their own data for use either offline or in their own websites & pages.
We also have a set of partners to whom we provide access to the API in exchange for data sharing to help us at the ECB better grow and understand the audience of cricket in England & Wales.
The ECB are always looking to make the experience of playing & administering cricket more exciting and less time-consuming for our players & users, and welcome conversations with providers of established products & services to the game of cricket, to explore opportunities to better support these goals.
We regret to say however that the process of onboarding & supporting new partners into a Play-Cricket integration is very time & effort intensive on our small team, and we aren’t able to onboard new partners unless we can deliver an immediate and concrete benefit to our user base. This means that we are currently unable to accept requests for onboarding from start-up products, or from experimental / educational projects.
We hope in future to establish a technical platform which will enable self-service integration, however are not able to commit to a timeline on this capability at this point.
Our advice to smaller-scale products/projects would be to consider allowing clubs to add in their own API tokens for their specific data while you grow, and to reach out to us if you can achieve growth with this approach.
For products with hundreds of club accounts, or thousands of existing cricket users, please do reach out via the helpdesk and we would be happy to discuss potential API access.
