Scoring A Match Offline (PCS) Follow
This article focuses on preparing your PCS app for offline scoring. For a general scoring guide, see How to Score on PCS – Play-Cricket.
If a scorer cannot or prefers not to score live online, follow these steps to score offline.
Once the match has been created on Play Cricket, download it to your app whilst you are connected to the Internet.
How to Score a Match Offline:
1. While online, navigate to the Matches screen in PCS and select the relevant match in the Upcoming section.
2. Choose Download from the available options.
3. The match will now be saved locally on the scorer’s device and appear in the Downloaded Matches list.
It is important that the following actions are carried out on match day:
4. Log out of PCS.
5. On the login screen, select Other Matches.
6. Choose Downloaded Matches.
7. Select your Downloaded Match, Start Match, and score the game as per normal. See How to Score on PCS – Play-Cricket for detailed guidance.
We will now outline the differences in finalizing results online vs. offline, with a focus on the offline scoring process.
8. When attempting to Finalise the Result, an information dialogue will say the match cannot be ended as you are currently scoring a downloaded match. Select OK.
9. Exit the match.
10. Save and Exit.
11. Press OK on the resulting Return to Matches Screen dialogue.
12. When next online, choose Return to Log In.
13. Find and tap your match on the matches screen, select Review / Edit.
14. Go to Match Actions and select End Match.
15. You will now be able to Finalise Result, and all score data will sync with Play-Cricket.
