Before digital scoring can start, teams must be selected, and captains and wicket keepers chosen for both sides. Players selected for the relevant match via Team Picker – Play-Cricket will be automatically populated in Play-Cricket scorer, otherwise team selection can take place from within the Play-Cricket Scorer app, provided the players are part of your squad. 

If a player isn't appearing in the Team Selection List, they can be added as a custom player for one time use. Please read this article for more information.

How to Select a Team in PCS:

1. Select Start Match.

2. The Team Selection list shows available players to add to the team. Select players preferably in batting order if known.

3. If too many players have been selected for the allowed total, an error dialogue will pop up.

4. Once the team is selected, press Edit Team to confirm the batting order, wicketkeeper, and captains.

5. Tap the three-dot icon next to a player to assign roles, add nicknames, or remove them if selected by mistake.

6. If no wicketkeeper is selected, an information dialog will prompt you to do so.

NB. Select one captain for both teams to avoid issues during match finalization at the end of the game.

7. After pressing Done, a Match Setup prompt will appear:

• • Choose Save and Exit if team selection is being done in advance.
  • Choose Continue to Match Setup if scoring is ready to begin.

Your match is now ready for scoring.
