Multiple Scorers (PCS) Follow
There will be times when more than one scorer is present at a game using the PCS app. Only one scorer can digitally score at a time.
Before the match begins, it’s important to decide:
- Who will be the main scorer
- When and how the handover will take place
Please Note: Ensure users have the correct permissions to log in to your club within PCS. You must:
- Be signed up to Play-Cricket
- Be a member of the club/league you wish to score for.
- Have the role of Scorer or Fixtures Administrator.
Once a scorer enters a match for scoring in PCS, all other scorers attempting to enter the match will see a Match Locked dialogue. You may still score offline, but will be unable to upload the score data via the app.
In an emergency (e.g. if you cannot locate the scorer who has locked the match), consider scoring offline and exporting your scorecard to PDF or CSV format (see this article for further information: Export Scorecard to PDF & Share (PCS) – Play-Cricket).
You can manually amend the scorecard on your Play-Cricket site later.
Steps to Hand Over Scoring to Another Device
Step 1: Save & Close
When the first scorer is ready to hand over scoring responsibilities, press Save & Exit.
Then choose Save & Close.
This updates the current score and unlocks the match.
Step 2: Continue Scoring
The new scorer can now select the relevant match and simply tap Continue Scoring. The new scorer has now successfully taken over scoring duties in PCS.
Important Note:
If the match result is modified on the Play-Cricket website during the game, it will lock the match to that scorer. This cannot be reversed in the app.
